Growing African Violet from leaf cutting

While growing up, I always watched my mother grow African violets from leaf cuttings. It is one of the easiest houseplants to grow this way and I've always grown my african violets using this method.

In order to start growing from a leaf cutting, we have to choose a healthy looking leaf and snap it off from the plant. Then place it in a water container for about 2 weeks by the window with filtered sunlight. It is better to use glass bottles or containers for this purpose as it will be easy to monitor the root growth. You might wanna change water once in between this period. Once the root growth is visible, we can transfer the plant to a pot.  Water the plant every week and we can fertilize the soil every 2 to 4 weeks.
